A native of Costa Mesa, California, Jake Knapp had a successful rookie season on the PGA Tour in 2024, highlighted by a remarkable two-shot victory at the Mexico Open in just his fifth tournament as a PGA Tour member. He also claimed victory in wire-to-wire fashion at the Grant Thornton Invitational for his second win of the year. His excellent performance secured guaranteed status on the PGA Tour through 2026. Prior to turning pro, Jake played collegiate golf at UCLA.
During his maiden PGA Tour campaign, Jake ascended more than 100 spots in the Official World Golf Ranking and broke into the Top-50 in the world after carding three Top-5 finishes in his first six starts. Before his promotion to the Tour, Jake won three times on the PGA Tour Canada.
With a Top-10 club head speed on the PGA Tour, Jake has already emerged as one of the longest drivers of the golf ball in the world with an effortless swing that has enamored social media users and drawn comparisons to Fred Couples. In 2023 on the Korn Ferry Tour, Jake took full advantage of his smooth power by leading the Korn Ferry Tour in par-5 scoring average in route to Top-10 finishes in 10 of 22 events, the most on Tour.
Jake currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is a health and fitness enthusiast who enjoys cooking and working out. In his free time, Jake loves cheering on his favorite NHL team, the Anaheim Ducks, a team that he is now more than just a fan of as their only official non-hockey athlete ambassador.
